On Saturday, 22. June 2024. Mountaineering club ŽELJEZNIČAR GOSPIĆ is organizing a summer ascent to Oštra (Gospić) and Metlača (Cave Park Grabovača, Perušić). The ascent to Oštra starts at Podoštra near the lodge at 10 a.m. Transportation by personal vehicles is in your own arrangement. At the top, there will be refreshments and sweets for the youngest participants, then the hike continues to Metlača (Cave Park Grabovača) where the ascent is at 1 p.m. After the ascent to Metlača at the location Ćojluk/ENTRANCE 2 of Cave Park Grabovača, a lunch and entertainment program is organized for all hikers as part of the Green Fair organized by Cave Park Grabovača and the Perušić Municipality Tourist Board. Cave Park Grabovača is also promoting a new trail called Five Peaks, of which Metlača is one, as a great way to recreate. The trail is 30 km long with beautiful panoramic views of the Lika River, and there is a logbook and stamp at each of the five peaks. A reward for this achievement can be obtained at the Park's info desk. A detailed description of the trails can be found on the Cave Park Grabovača website.
